Ordinarily one would expect that Nehemiah shouldn’t be bothered about what was happening back home in Jerusalem, given the fact that at least he has found a relatively safe and good place to operate from though in captivity. Nehemiah continued to be concerned about his homeland, hence he does not waste any opportunity to get updates about the situation of the land. This continuous burden for Jerusalem became the seed of the rebuilding and ultimately the revival of the land. This book is simply a record of God’s revelations to the author and as he studied the book of Nehemiah. It is indeed a reinforcement of what God can do when there is a willing man who is not bothered about opposition and circumstances. It is part of a series of my self-discovery Bible Studies.
